Passionate about exploring the intersection of design, code, and society. Primarily experienced in front-end programming, I come from an Human-Computer Interaction and Computer Science oriented background with interests in K-12 outreach, Aviation, Photography, and Musical Theater.

Experience

Belle and Wissell, Co.

Typescript | ReactJS | HTML/CSS | Studio Website

Worked with Belle & Wissell, Co. to deliver interactive experiences to multiple clients including the Seattle Art Museum (Project Page), large museum institutions, and a top-ten telecommunications company. Served in a primarily front-end role creating prototypes, developing software, iterating on client feedback, and installing content on-site. Work highlights include interactive museum exhibit interfaces, exhibit automation to enable touchless viewing, and large-scale lobby experiences. Both the studio and clients expressed an appreciation of the code quality in deliverables and the ability to work effectively and thoughtfully.

Client Website Development

HTML/CSS | Javascript | Wordpress

Implemented website redesigns and upgrades for two clients, Belle & Wissell, Co. and the University of Washington's Math Science Upward Bound program. Worked closely alongside clients to bring their website redesigns to life. Wrote code for both visual and interactive elements, implemented and integrated wordpress CMS systems, and performed site launches and post-launch service.

Allen School Socialspace

Python | cv2 | spacy | Google Speech-to-Text

Worked alongside School of Design students to develop a physical interactive installation aimed at fostering a sense of community between two buildings through shared discussion prompts and response word clouds. Captured imagery and audio and consequently utilized various machine learning APIs/libraries to extract relevant data, created visual participant-facing projection (Processing). Participated in project showcase where building stakeholders interacted with and judged our installation – many indicated delight in the ambient nature of the installation and the digital “conversational bridge” it formed.

Experience Museums Project

Human-Centered Design | UX | Project Site

Worked alongside Human-Centered Design students to create a digital product to enrich and enhance the museum-going experience. Performed initial ideation (Personas, Storyboards, User-Journey Map), conducted user-research (contextual inquiry, interviews), prototyped, evaluated, and refined product design (Usability Testing, Critiques), developed and presented final product design to a panel of industry and academic professionals (HTML/CSS). Panel and academic feedback highlighted the well-researched design of our final product, visual aesthetics, and the concise yet comprehensive final portfolio site – featuring process reflections and interactive designs.

Outreach

In addition to my interest in industry, broadening participation and access to computer science education is one of my passions. For two years, I served as an Ambassador Lead with the Paul G. Allen School of Computer Science, working to promote diversity within the field of computer science through intentional educational outreach.

Throughout my time as an ambassador, I have visited over 30 schools, led conversations in local communities about tech, and engaged a countless number of enthusiastic students to answer their questions--what does "tech" really mean? Who represents tech? How they can bring their own voices and those of the community into tech? In the summers of 2019 and 2020 I also had the opportunity to teach a six-week introductory programming class as a part of the University of Washington's Upward Bound Math Science program, a federal TRIO program.

Interested in talking about computer-science outreach and education? Please reach out! I am currently learning more about p5.js and how it can be used to teach computer science in a fun and visual way while still introducing students to foundational concepts, practices, and syntax. Also if you're a former student, feel free to just say hi :)
